A minute to install. One dialog to expect.
Mac Duo is not notarized by Apple yet, so macOS stops the first launch and says it cannot verify the app. That warning is about paperwork we have not bought — not about anything found in the app. Here is the way through.

Open the disk image and drag the app across.
Double-click MacDuo-1.0.dmg. A window opens with Mac Duo on the left and an Applications shortcut on the right. Drag one onto the other, then eject the disk image.

Try to open it. macOS will refuse, once.
Open Mac Duo from Applications. You will see a dialog saying macOS cannot verify the app is free of malware. This is expected: the app is not yet notarized by Apple. Click Done — do not move it to the Bin.

Approve it in System Settings.
Open System Settings → Privacy & Security. Scroll down to the Security section. You will see a line saying "Mac Duo" was blocked, with an Open Anyway button beside it. Click it, then confirm. You only ever do this once.

Allow Screen Recording.
On first run the app asks for Screen Recording. It needs it: the glass is built out of your live display, so without it there is nothing to render. Capture runs only while the lid is moving, and nothing is recorded, saved, or sent anywhere.

Close the lid.
Click Enable Mac Duo, then move the lid slowly and watch it follow. If you would rather not close anything, the main window has Play the fold, which runs the whole thing on demand.
The Control-click trick does not work any more
Older guides tell you to Control-click the app and choose Open. Apple removed that route in macOS Sequoia. System Settings → Privacy & Security is the only way now.
